Creating a commissioned artwork is an enjoyable experience for the artist and collector since they collaborate in a joint creation.

Fees:

The fees are based on the finished artwork size, calculated at USD $2.5/cm2 (USD $16.13 Sq./Inch) for oils. (This is an estimate which may vary depending on the complexity of the subject). The price for Leonardo's graphite drawings is half that of a painting. Contact Leonardo to discuss your project and allow for a more detailed estimate).

Following are some typical sizes for oil on canvas (the inches measure is rounded up):
100 x 160 cm (39” x 63”) = USD $40,000

80 x 120 cm (31 1/2 x 47”) = USD $24,000

70 x 90 cm (27 1/2” x 35 1/2”) = USD $15,750

50 x 70 cm (19 1/"2” x 27 1/2”) = USD $8,750

40 x 60 cm (15 3/4” x 23 1/4”) = USD $6,000

30 x 40 cm (12” x 15 3/4”) = USD $3,000

Terms

A 10% deposit will allow us to schedule your commission on Leonardo’s calendar. At the agreed date, Leonardo will begin reviewing the photography and doing any needed research for references, and he will produce a sketch for approval; at that time, 30% of the remaining fee will be due. The final balance shall be paid when the finished painting is delivered. Unusual expenses incurred to satisfy the collector´s vision, such as necessary travel or professional photography, are not included and would be determined and agreed upon in advance. Framing is not included, but it can be arranged for you at your specifications.
