About Leonardo Pereznieto

Some of the prizes he has been awarded are:

Youngest son of painter Fernando Pereznieto and Author and Classical Guitarist Corazón Otero, he was raised in an artistic and cultural environment that fostered his creativity. At eight, he had his first exhibit alongside his father at the Goya Gallery in Mexico City.

Pereznieto studied classical techniques at the New York Academy of Art and Digital Art at the Voxel School of Madrid. He has been awarded numerous prizes including recognition from the International Art Festival (New York), Premio Firenze (Italy) and the Italy Award for Visual Arts (Italy).

Equally at home with technology as in the studio, Pereznieto worked for Google as an adviser during the development of their artistic virtual reality tool. In addition, he was invited by Binance (the world's largest cryptocurrency platform) as one of the 100 international artists selected for the launch of their new NFT (digital art originals) site. He has also volunteered and been a speaker for The Way to Happiness and the Youth for Human Rights foundations.

Leonardo Pereznieto resides in Madrid, Spain, where he continues his successful artistic career, creating work that explores the cultural messages and lessons he has been gathering throughout his life.

Artist Statement

Art is my life, and creating for me is like breathing.

I express myself through drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media. I seek to capture the splendor of the human spirit, the beauty, and the sensuality of the female figure and nature in a way that mirrors and, at the same time, idealizes visual reality. I strive to capture unforgettable moments and dreams in many of my works.

I create contrast by combining different types of mark-making. I finish the faces, hands, and subjects I want to emphasize with great detail, color, and contrast. At the same time, the rest of the figures and the background are often made with bolder strokes, making them subdued or blurry, inviting the viewer to spend more time on the key areas.

I intend to preserve the best of visual tradition by emphasizing technical skill, beauty, and passion while keeping up with the times by using new media, being sensitive to our contemporary public, and creating original forms.
